The Circle Game...week 4

This is one of my favorite photos I uploaded it from a greeting card. My friend thought the photo looked staged, but it is actually a game played by Pygmy children. They sit in a circle and take turns naming circular objects until they can't think of one, and then they are out. They last person to stay in is the winner. I love everything about this photo, the colors, the shape, the textures.

Little Rainforest...week 3

This is a very old photo of my brother looking at a " Rain Forest" that our sister made after she heard about the destruction of the rain forests in South America. I chose this picture to go with the Stonehenge,because in a way it reminds me of a little megalith.

stonehenge sunrise...week 3

Ive always been fascinated with Stonehenge. got this one online from someone who made sure to post it small enough that it couldn't be stolen. I think this picture works because it captures the magic of Stonehenge.I think its the way it is lit up from behind, like its glowing. I also like the combination of colors.

This really isn't what I was going for. But photoshop got a little too complicated for me, and this is what I ended up with. Better luck next time maybe.I had problems with the text especially.I was bummed because I really wanted this to work out. But I'm going to come back to it when I have a better relationship with photoshop.

Collage - Bird and eye

This is an image from a dream I had. I tried to paint it a couple of times, but it was much easier to do with the collage. Not really sure what to say about it. I enjoyed doing it. Photoshop is great for working with the surreal images of dreams.

Big Z

This seemed like an impossible assignment.I gave up so many time in complete frustration. This isn't really what I was going for and It doesn't quite work, but this is what I ended up with. It is a bunch of Zzzzz, but turned into an x. I should say, in my defense, that these are my first attempts with photo shop. I am pretty much a computer neanderthal.This one is getting deleted as soon as my grade is in.

Strange rock...week 2

Came across this formation in the desert. It contrasted so abruptly with the flat, grey dustiness around it. We climbed all through it. It was like something from another planet.

Light Echo...week 2

For reasons unknown this star suddenly expanded- becoming the brightest light in the Milkeyway, then it just as mysteriously faded. This photo was taken from the Hubble Telescope.The effect is called a Light Echo because light from the star is seen bouncing off preexisting space dust.This light echo is six light years in diameter. I love pictures of deep space. This one reminds me of an angelic space dragon.

Recycled glass bottles...week1

I got this one from the internet. I thought this picture was beautiful, the smooth glass with the sharp building in the background.

Looking out my window...week 1

I liked the way the light looked through the different colored glass.
