Portrait--Self
Portrait--Someone I Know
This is my daughter Athena when she was a toddler. I always liked the way this picture turned out, because it's so simple, and it really shows her personality.
Portrait-- Someone I Know
This is my daughter Sundara one summer on the Smith River. There was a very tall, slim waterfall just across the river from here. We climbed to the top, there were little pools all the way done the fall where hundreds of tiny little frogs lived. Sundara loved the frogs because they were so little and cute.
Portrait Stranger---Very Strange
I guess he feels the same way about the kitchen as I do... I actually took this of a friend a long time ago, but I don't have a stranger portrait yet so this one is standing in. I did get a picture of the guy who snuck up behind me in the alley, but it didn't turn out that great. As soon as I find a way to ask a stranger if I can take their picture, without feeling like a wierdo, I will put it in this ones place.
week 8...The Alley
Took this picture in what I think is Ashland's only alley. I've never seen anyone in here before, but while I was taking the picture, I got a creepy feeling that there was someone watching me. Then a man said, "I'm coming up behind you." When I left I looked back and there was another man stumbling in from the far end, with a walking cane and pipe. He took a few puffs on his pipe and hobbled out again. I never realized what a popular destination this was.

Camel in Dubia...week 8
This photo was taken by a friend in Dubia. I love how the sun is nestled on the camels back. I love this picture, the shapes and colors. It looks hot and dusty, but it almost gives the feel of water too. I think its the shape and the color of the sky, makes it feel cool and smooth, I almost want to drink this picture.

Flat scratch-Elephant boy brings flowers over the moon
This assignment was soooooo frustrating. But I finally managed to get something out. This is my first with the painting program. I just had to not try any special tricks.I have strange luck with electronics. They like acting up with me.

Night...week 7
Got this one off the internet, taken by Joshua Farnsworth. I like the way this picture makes me feel, like the air is cold and somewhat damp, like there is something unexplainable about to happen. You can tell by the face in the clouds hiding behind the tree.
pink and green...week 7
I posted this photo and then, it was just really bothering me. So Im experimenting with contrast and hue, trying to find something that works. Still in the adjustment phase. Cant quite get it to do what I want it to.
Truck Riders...week 6
I got this off the internet from someone named eesti. I like this photo because it contrasts so much with life in the U.S. It seems like we have regulations on everything here. Things are so regulated and beauracratic to the point of lunacy. It is easy to look at a picture like this and think something about safety. But here in the U.S. we have tried to make ourselves safe through systems of regulation. It seems all the beauracracy has not so much made us safe, as paralized. I like the feeling of freedom in this photo.
Autumn Kitty...week 6
My cat loves looking out this window, we get all kinds of visitors back there, deer, skunk, racoon. She really likes to eat. I think it helps her be the neighborhood bully. Gives her a lot of wieght to throw around

Dubia Dome...week 5
This is a photo taken by a friend while in Dubia setting up a dome. He said one of the things that struck him most about being there was the huge gap between the rich and the poor. Some of the wealthiest people in the world live there, but the poverty is so extreme. Most of the construction is done by refugees from Afghanistan, and refugees work for basically nothing, it's their only choice for survival.
Moon Flower...week 5
Moon Flowers are like morning Glories only bigger, and they only bloom at night.
